Papua New Guinea's Court of Disputed Returns has dismissed an election petition against the deputy prime minister, Dr Allan Marat.
The petition had been filed by a former MP for Rabaul, Sir John Kaputin, who alleged bribery, undue influence and double voting in last year's general election.
The court struck out the case because of a lack of evidence.
Dr Marat told the National newspaper that he had always been confident of winning the case and says he couldn't understand why Sir John took out the petition.
