Paul Casserly has been involved in broadcasting since being lured by the post-punk rumble leaking from the dank rooms of Radio B, at Auckland University, in the late 1980s. A stint as a panel operator on a nostalgia show at 1ZB gave him a taste for early recordings and late nights, and for the meandering genius of the callers. As writer and director of the TV series Eating Media Lunch, he wallowed in the entrails of our media for the best part of a decade but has always been drawn back to radio. "It's a love/hate relationship" he says, before hanging up.
