Stars of the Pacific music scene styled their best looks for the annual Pacific Music Awards in Tāmaki Makarau event on Thursday night.

Here's how their outfits came together.

Aaradhna

Soul/R&B singer Aaradhna, who was named best Pacific female artist at the awards last night, went for Indian traditional attire, honouring her roots. Just before the awards, she found what she was looking for in a window at a Papaptoetoe store.

Mariner Fagaiava

Journalist Mariner Fagaiava had a close call with a “suffocating” outfit that was sent in the day before. “I quickly went to One Fit Higher, it’s Māori-owned dress rental business, and my make-up artist and hair stylist lent me this kiekie."

Rapper MELODOWNZ went “nice and quiet” in a light blue Polo Ralph Lauren sweater matched with an op-shop shirt and shimmering trousers from Korean apparel designer Odd Even. He paired blue flame socks with Wallabee shoes.

Gaby Solomona

Actress and former Celebrity Treasure Island star Gaby Solomona wore an electric blue custom dress from Tongan designer Cokana, matched with Panikeke earrings. “I wanted to celebrate Tongan language week, and I went to a designer, and they made this beautiful outfit for me.”

Māori soul artist Myshaan said he was “taking them to church” in his black tie and tee paired with a cool leather jacket (complete with soaring eagle on the back). Tying it all together was his trusty four-year-old Doc Martens.
