New Zealand First has released its party list for next month's general election.
Party leader Winston Peters is first, deputy Ron Mark second, and the former Labour MP and party newcomer Shane Jones has been ranked 8.
Mr Jones is contesting the Whangarei electorate for the party and said he was very happy with his ranking.
He said he never lobbied the party's board for a high list placing, but he was always confident his quality would shine through.
The controversial MP Richard Prosser was demoted from third on New Zealand First's list at the last election to 15th.
