An Indian team doctor has escaped any serious penalty after being found guilty of breaching the Commonwealth Games no needle policy.
Syringes were found in a bottle near the Indian team's accommodation at the athletes village.
Needles are banned in the village unless there is a medical exemption.
The doctor for the Indian boxing team, Amol Patil, told a hearing he had administered a vitaminB complex, by injection, to an athlete that was feeling unwell.
In a statement, the Commonwealth Games Federation said upon questioning, the Doctor conceded that he was aware of the No Needle Policy.
The Federation court has recommended Dr Patil be given a strong written reprimand over the breach but no further punishment has been recommended.
