Tokyo Olympics Day 13: Who to watch

Carrington and Regal are on the hunt for another medal, Walsh and Gill to take on shot put final and Ko will tee off for round two of the women's golf event.

Here's who to watch today:

Golf

Lydia Ko will tee off at 10.30am for the second round of the women's individual stroke play event after finishing 1 under par tied for 14th place in the first round.

Canoe/Kayak

The gold medal winning canoeist duo of Caitlin Regal and Lisa Carrington will each take on the K-1 500m canoe sprint semifinals as they both look to secure a spot in the final.

Regal will compete in semifinal 1 at 12.58pm while Carrington will start her day on the water in semifinal 4 at 1.15pm.

After winning gold together in the K-2 event the pair could end up racing against each other in the K-1 final at 3.01pm.

Meanwhile in the men's K-2 1000m canoe sprint, Max Brown and Kurtis Emrie are set to compete in their semifinal at 1.26pm.

Karate

Andrea Anacan will become New Zealand's first ever karate Olympian when she competes in the first Pool A elimination round at 1pm.

Athletics

Rio 2016 bronze medalist Tom Walsh will continue his hunt for another Olympic medal in the men's shot put final at 2.05pm after he faced a scare in qualifying when his place in the final was only sealed when one of his foul throws was overturned.

Joining him in the final is his New Zealand teammate Jacko Gill who placed ninth in the event at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Later on, veteran runner Nick Willis will compete in the men's 1500m semifinals at 11pm as he looks to secure a chance to run in the final and compete for the third Olympic medal of his career.

Cycling

Aaron Gate is scheduled to ride in the men's omnium tonight, less than 24 hours after his crash cost the New Zealand men's pursuit team a bronze medal.

Gate is a former world champion in the four discipline event which starts with the scratch race at 6.30pm.

Sam Webster is set to compete in men's sprint 1/8 finals at 6.45pm after beating out Frenchman Sebastien Vigier in the 1/16 final by a margin of under a tenth of a second.

Ellesse Andrews will take on the women's keirin quarterfinal at 7.06pm after qualifying through the repechages.
