The Navy ship HMNZS Manawanui arrived in Akaroa today to join the search for the three crew, whose vessel sank last Sunday morning.

To take advantage of today's good weather, the police hired a commercial vessel to take investigators and rescuers to the fishing boat's location early this morning.

There, they deployed the Navy's remotely operated submarine to explore the site.

The police confirmed they had found the FV Jubilee, and saw one dead body inside the boat.

The death has been referred to the coroner, although the body has not yet been recovered.

Divers will not be sent into the water until the Manawanui arrives on the scene, and due to the depth, it will take the divers a couple of days to be able to reach the fishing boat.
