Northland protest against oil company

About a dozen people are demonstrating in Whangarei against the oil company Statoil which has exploration licences for areas off Northland's west coast.

Stopstatoil Whangarei, a newly formed protest group, was protesting alongside State Highway One.

The group's spokesperson Buck Cullen said they wanted to show Statoil they were not welcome in Northland.
