The victim of a shooting in South Auckland is now in a stable condition at Middlemore Hospital.

Police responded to the shooting on Dawson Road in Clover park, Manukau, about 7am yesterday. The person suffered serious injuries.
The cordon on Dawson Road has been lifted.
The police investigation is ongoing.
The latest shooting has caused fear for local residents and prompted Auckland Mayor Phil Goff to complain of a wild west mentality.
