09:20 Ezekiel Raui: from Far North to Buckingham Palace

Young Northland Maori leader, Ezekiel Raui, is the winner of the Queen's Young Leaders 2017 Awards. He was nominated for his work around leadership and mental health, and the peer support programme he established at his old school, Taipa Area School, which has won government funding and a pilot roll out to four schools next year. Next June, he'll travel to Buckingham Palace to receive the award from Queen Elizabeth II.

When Lou Te Keeti won $10.3 million in the Lotto Powerball this year, he made a couple of unlikely decisions – one was to go public, and the other was to stay put. There have been no lavish overseas holidays – and a fleeting idea for a flash new house was quickly panned when his wife said he could "get stuffed".
So, humble and with his feet still very firmly on the ground, Lou Te Keeti has set about making the lives of those around him more comfortable instead. He speaks to Kathryn Ryan and reflects on his fortuitous year.
