1:15 Call for forced adoptions inquiry rejected

A call for an inquiry into forced adoptions was rejected in Parliament yesterday. Maggie Wilkinson has been fighting a 30-year battle for the government to investigate the forced adoption of babies born to unwed mothers from the late 1950s to the 1980s. Her own daughter was taken from her in 1964 when she gave birth at St Mary's home for unwed mothers, which was run by the Anglican Church in Ōtāhuhu.

Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads was released in 1984.

It spent more than 2 years on the US billboard 200 chart and was a popular choice for a great live album to play.

It could also pass as a great movie soundtrack, as the music is from the band's 1984 concert film, Stop Making Sense which was directed by Jonathan Demme.

Kate has two brand new albums to tempt us with today; LA based family band Haim, comprised of three sisters and another Californian three-piece outfit called Lany, formed by friends who all studied music in college and are multi-instrumentalists.

The sisters playing in a covers band fronted by their parents and formed Haim in 2007. Their first album, "Days Are Gone" charted in several countries, and reached number-one in the UK,  Haim was nominated for Best New Artist at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards and their second album is set to be released early next month
