1:25 Restoring Forest Life

Often conservation efforts are put into our fauna over flora but in the Hawke's Bay a trust is doing both and doing it well. The Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust run one of the most prolific kiwi breeding programmes in the country and are doing all they can on the same swathe of land to bring back some plant life from the brink of extinction. The Trust owns a four thousand hectare former pine forest inland from Hawke's Bay where they are reintroducing native species which in turn is encouraging native wildlife. Peter Shaw is a Trustee who's been working on the land which was bought in 2005.

Peter Frampton taught himself guitar and piano and formed his first band when he was just Twelve.  At sixteen he became lead guitarist and singer in the British group The Herd and two years later joined with Steve Marriott (The Small faces) to form Humble Pie.

In 1972 the first of four solo albums was released but none met with much commercial success.  This all changed in 1976 with the release of the double live album "Frampton Comes Alive" which, at one point, was the biggest selling Live Album.
