Evie Ashton
As a child Evie would sit squeezed up in the back of the family's white Mini, reading all the road signs out loud. Not annoying at all.
She's been a broadcaster in various guises across decades, as a host, journalist and newsreader and behind the scenes as a producer and director.
Her tertiary credits are in feminism, psychology and documentary directing. She's a comedy improviser and alumni at Covert Theatre, an advocate for financial literacy, te ao Māori, and for getting on board or getting out of the way. She's fluent in two languages but her enthusiasm for speaking others extends much farther, with mixed results.
Her heritage is Scandinavian, Scottish and Jewish. She's lived around the world collecting and creating stories, but her heart is in Aotearoa NZ, as are two lovely humans she prepared earlier.
