The Northern Marianas police have jailed a man for refusing to undergo the mandatory Covid-19 quarantine upon arriving on the island.

Police arrested the man, who had just arrived at the Saipan International Airport, for obstruction of justice and took him to the Department of Corrections.

There his temperature was above 100° F after which he was taken to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, where he undertook the Covid-19 test that turned out be negative.

His wife, who is a U.S. Homeland Security agent and who arrived with him, agreed to follow the quarantine rules after being talked to.
