FBC News reported this is because the Nadi Magistrate was not present to hear the case today.

Freesoul is facing charges over damage caused by construction of a resort on Malolo island after media revealed massive destruction there.

The company is charged with one count of undertaking unauthorised development.

It is also charged with a count of failure to comply with a prohibition notice under the Environment Management Act.

Under the Act, if convicted, the company and its directors face fines of up to $US345,000 or a term of imprisonment of up to10 years, or both.

The case will now be called on the 24 June.
