Hobbit in fourth place this weekend

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, has fallen to fourth place in the US and Canada's box office charts this weekend, after leading for three consecutive weekends.

The last movie of Sir Peter Jackson's three Hobbit films made about $12 million this weekend.

Taken 3 was number one, making about $51 million, followed by historical drama Selma and Disney's Into The Woods.

Since The Hobbit opened on 17 December, it has taken in about $300 million in the US and Canada, and close to $700 million elsewhere.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey made $380 million in the US and Canada and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug took in about $330 millon over 19 and 18 weekends respectively.
