Some of the finest contemporary Maori art is on display in Wellington this weekend from more than 200 talented tangata whenua and six indigenous international artists.

The public can talk to the artists and buy their work at the TSB Arena from today.
The Toi Maori Art Market also features fashion, music and demonstrations, as well as ceremonial waka parades by local iwi on Wellington harbour.
Suzanne Tamaki, a fibre artist with the fashion label Native Sista, says it is a unique opportunity for her to meet like-minded Maori and view their art.
She says being around so much art is inspiring and some is very challenging and forward-thinking.
Ms Tamaki says many collaborations are formed between Maori artists, whereas she believes Pakeha are not as good at sharing their resources, knowledge and time.
