The Football Ferns have been trounced 5-nil in their World Cup warm up match against the world number ones the United States, in St Louis in Missouri.
The New Zealand women's team ranked 19th in the world, went into the match with some confidence after a recent win over Norway which was their first win over higher ranked opposition in four years.
But the USA were much too clinical for the New Zealand side and they ruthlessly exposed the Football Ferns defence.
The home side began strongly although New Zealand had the chance to take the lead within the first five minutes when Rosie White, playing her 100th international, hit her left-foot shot over the crossbar.

From there though the home side dominated although it wasn't until the 35th minute that the three time world champions opened the scoring when captain Megan Rapinoe found space down the left-flank and found Tobin Heath who made a good run in behind the Ferns defensive line to tap home.
The home side went 2-nil up five minutes later when Rose Lavelle finished well at the back post after pin point cross from fellow midfielder Lindsey Horan.
The score remained that way at the halftime break but the USA were far from done.
After the break the Ferns faded under the constant pressure and lack of possession.
Carli Lloyd came off the bench and scored with her first touch on the end of a well-worked team move.
Coach Tom Sermanni made changes bringing on Olivia Chance for Katie Duncan in the 60th minute, Anna Green made way for Paige Satchell and Hannah Wilkinson made her return from injury when she took the place of Sarah Gregorius, but the Ferns could not create any goal scoring opportunities.
Lloyd scored a second to give the USA a 4-nil lead and the fifth was a fine strike from Sam Mewis from outside the box.
The USA are unbeaten in their last eight games.
The Ferns will look to regroup when they play world number 26 Mexico in a behind closed doors fixture next week in New York.
They will also play England and Wales before the World Cup in France.
