New Zealand topped their pool with a 28-10 defeat of Samoa in their final group game on Saturday.

Sonny Bill Williams and Gillies Kaka scored tries while Regan Ware bagged a brace as the All Black Sevens converted a 21-0 half-time lead.

Earlier on Saturday, New Zealand eked out a tight 5-0 win over Kenya, thanks to a try from the stand-in captain DJ Forbes.

The veteran Forbes could be reunited with the captain's armband for the rest of the tournament after the regular captain, Tim Mikkelson, was injured in New Zealand's tight 19-17 win over France on Friday.

The All Black Sevens will face Wales in the cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
