Big wins for Auckland, Northern and Central in one-dayers

There have been big wins to the leaders Auckland and to Central and Northern Districts in cricket's one day competition.

Test opener Tim McIntosh made 138 as Auckland reached 362 for five in Oamaru, where the hosts were dismissed for 278 in the 47th over, with the Pakistan allrounder, Yasir Arafat, unbeaten on 110.

Central dismissed Canterbury for 77 in New Plymouth, Ewen Thompson taking six for 20, and went on to win by eight wickets.

And Northern beat Wellington by seven wickets at the Basin Reserve with Kane Williams contributing an unbeaten century in helping chase down 217.
