Windies walloped by Aussies

The Australian cricketers have completed their buildup to the Ashes series with a resounding 277-run win over the West Indies in the second test at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

The Windies were bowled out for just 114 in their second innings on day four of the test, securing a 2-nil series win for Australia.

The pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Johnson all had success as Australia charged to victory.

Starc (3-34) began the rout when he bowled Shane Dowrich for 4 with a vicious in-swinger.

Hazlewood, the leading wicket-taker in the series, then chimed in with the wickets of Darren Bravo (11) and Jermaine Blackwood (0) as the Windies slid to 33 for 5.

Young gun Shai Hope (16) was undone by Johnson (2-23) with a delivery that moved sharply off the pitch to cannon into his stumps.

Shane Watson (1-3) picked up his first wicket of the series when Jason Holder (1) offered a simple catch to Starc at midwicket.

After lunch Johnson ended a 49-run eighth-wicket stand when he removed Windies captain Denesh Ramdin (29) before Nathan Lyon wrapped up the match with two wickets in as many balls.
