35-year-old Elliott is currently playing for New Zealand in the World Cup.

He'll be available for at least 10 matches for Leicestershire depending on his selection for the Black Caps tour of England in May and June.

Considered more as a batsmen by the county, Elliott has scored 1102 T20 runs at 26.23 with a strike rate of 136.04.

Elliott says he's looking to make some valuable contributions with both bat and ball, Leicestershire will have a new look for 2015 and he's ready to play his part.

Wasim Khan, chief executive of Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket added they're delighted to have somebody of Grant's calibre with them for their T20 campaign. His experience will be invaluable to us in the new era for Leicestershire.

Elliott is the second overseas player for Leicestershire after Clint McKay.

Yesterday fellow Black Caps all rounder Corey Anderson announced he'd play for Somerset in the T20.
