New Zealand completed their preparations for the Cricket World Cup with the victory, boosted by five wickets from pace bowler Trent Boult.
The Proteas employed a heavily rotated bowling attack that featured eight players including all-rounder JP Duminy, who said the team wasn't too phased by the result.
"We identified that we're not too phased about the result, it's about good overs under the belt and most of the guys did - I bowled quite a few overs," he said.
"It's always nice to take away wins from these types of games, but we're quite happy with where we are."

Batting first, New Zealand posted a commanding total of 331 for eight as captain Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson hit the side's biggest scores.
McCullum struck 59 and number three Williamson hit 66, while Ross Taylor chipped in with 41.
Nathan McCullum finished things off with a quick 33 not out from 19 deliveries.
The Proteas employed a heavily rotated bowling attack that featured eight different players as Vernon Philander and Kyle Abbott got two wickets apiece.

The South Africa top order then crumbled in the chase, with the side reeling at 62 for six at one point.
JP Duminy restored some pride with 80 runs from 98 deliveries, but the Proteas were eventually bowled out for 197.
Trent Boult was the pick of the New Zealand bowlers with five for 51, while Daniel Vettori and Mitchell McClenaghan chipped in with two wickets each.
The Cricket World Cup opens on Saturday in Christchurch, with the Black Caps taking on Sri Lanka.
