New Zealand teenage racing driver Mitch Evans has finished second in the GP2 feature race on the streets of Monaco.

The 19-year-old survived three safety car interventions and a red flag race stoppage to finish just 0.4 seconds behind GP2 Series leader Jolyon Palmer from Great Britain.

It was the Aucklander's third consecutive podium finish at Monaco; having scored two third-placings in the Principality in 2013.

The result at the third round of the season lifts Evans from 12th to seventh in the overall points.
