Ropati's wretched luck continues in NRL

10:51 am on 1 April 2014

The Warriors centre Jerome Ropati faces anything from six weeks to 12 weeks on the sideline after breaking his jaw in Saturday's 42-18 NRL win over the Wests Tigers in Wellington.

Making just his third appearance of the season, the 29-year-old's 12th NRL campaign was put on ice after a try-saving tackle on Tigers fullback James Tedesco just 12 minutes into the contest.

Ropati has undergone surgery in Wellington.

It's the fourth time in successive seasons that Ropati has been hampered by a significant injury.

In more encouraging news second rower Feleti Mateo has recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of Saturday's match against the Tigers and is in line to be available this week.
