Not guilty plea over student's death

A man has pleaded not guilty to murdering Massey University student Virginia Ford.

The 20-year-old from Dunedin was found dead at the apartment block where she lived in Palmerston North on 13 March.

Jesse John Stuart Ferris-Bromley, 21, pleaded not guilty when he appeared in the High Court in Wellington via audio visual link this morning.

He previously had interim name suppression but Justice Simon France ordered it be lifted today.

He was remanded in custody to reappear again in June.
