A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in an apartment block in Palmerston North on Friday.
Virginia Ford, 20, from Dunedin, was found late on Friday night and attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
A man who was initially charged with assault has now been charged with murder.
A post mortem examination was completed yesterday and the police have preliminary results.
The man will appear in the Palmerston North District Court tomorrow morning.
