2:09 pm on 8 March 2011

Police in South Auckland are investigating what they say is a serious sexual assault on a woman.

They say the 51-year-old sales assistant was attacked at 2pm on Friday as she waited to show clients around a show home in a new housing development at Karaka Lakes in Papakura.

Police say the attacker used a knife to threaten the woman, who managed to escape by locking herself in the bathroom.

They are looking for a man described as Maori, aged in his late teens to early 20s, with a tattoo on his left bicep.

At the time of the assault, he was wearing black leggings, a black T-shirt and motorcycle boots.
