Southern Hawke's Bay has been hammered by a severe thunderstorm tonight.
Heavy rain, hail and damaging winds passed over Waipukurau at around 7:15.
It has now moving out towards the coast and Metservice has cancelled the severe thunderstorm warning for Gisborne and Hawke's Bay.
Fire and Emergency says it has not had any calls about problems from the storms so far.
Meanwhile, a severe thunderstorm watch is in place until 11 o'clock tonight for Central Otago, Southern Lakes, Dunedin, Clutha, Southland and Fiordland.
