Christchurch police have charged a learner driver with the manslaughter of a young woman, after a crash in Rangiora.

Adam Rapson, 18, was allegedly driving a car which had been deemed not road worthy, which then smashed into a house last month.

He was initially facing four charges, including dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop for police.

Rapson is now facing three more charges, including manslaughter and dangerous driving causing injury.
