A search is underway after a shooting in Napier this afternoon left a person in a serious condition.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the intersection of Tait Drive and Lamason Street at about 1:15pm.
Police said one person sustained a leg injury and St Johns confirmed they were in a serious condition.
The offender fled the scene and armed police were in the area.
However, police said there is no information to suggest there was a risk to the wider public.
