The person was being treated for a non-Covid related issue but was showing Covid-19 symptoms and was tested.

The DHB said all staff that interacted with the person were wearing appropriate PPE and are fully vaccinated.

The person is isolating on a ward set up to manage Covid-19 patients, it said.

Investigations were continuing to determine the source of their infection.

Two bars are among Covid-19 new locations of interest in the Wellington region.

The Ministry of Health says people who went to the Newlands Arms in Newlands and the Inn Keeper in Johnsonville last Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (26 and 27 January) should monitor for symptoms.

A full list of locations of interest in Wellington and elsewhere is available on the Ministry of Health website.
