Napier residents have not been able to get real time weather conditions from the country's main weather forecast provider during the heat of summer.

For the last few weeks, there has been no current temperature for the Hawke's Bay city when people look at the MetService website or app.
MetService meteorologist Peter Little said this was because the weather station in the city centre was not working.
"Unfortunately, our weather station at Napier city, which is near McLean Park, that's actually stopped reporting.
"The good news is we have some technicians which are expected to repair it later this week."
However, forecasters are able to use the area's other station at Napier Airport to find the latest temperature and predict the weather.
