Plea for help in identifying injured pedestrian in Wellington Hospital

Police are asking for help to identify a patient in Wellington Hospital after he was hit by a car last week.

The man was near Riddiford Street in Newtown on Friday about 8pm, when he was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle. Police say the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with officers.

The man who was hit only regained consciousness today and is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit.

However, he is having trouble remembering personal details and has no identification.

He is described as Caucasian in his 40s, with tanned skin, dark hair, a beard, about 170cm tall, and of medium build.
