6:28 pm on 28 April 2020

New Zealand has moved into alert level three today, with more businesses opening and the number of new cases remaining low.

As Covid-19 spreads around the world, it can be daunting keeping up with the information. For RNZ, our responsibility is to give you verified, up to the minute, trustworthy information to help you make decisions about your lives and your health. We'll also be asking questions of officials and decision makers about how they're responding to the virus. Our aim is to keep you informed.

Businesses owners have been dealing with the new restrictions today, while thousands of fast food fans lined up for takeaways throughout the day.

Meanwhile, there were just two new confirmed cases today, but the Prime Minister has warned the country it needs to remain vigilant, or it risks losing the gains it has made.
