A man has been charged with murdering a two-year-old girl found dead on mudflats in Bay of Plenty in March.
The child's body was found on the flats at Little Waihi in Maketu.
Police upgraded their investigation to a homicide after getting the results of a post-mortem.
They say a 37-year-old man will appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow, charged with murder.
Detective Sergeant Louise Curragh says it was a tragic incident, and she has thanked the public for their help and co-operation during the investigation.
