Dunedin man arrested over peeping tom incident

1:51 pm on 19 February 2018

A 53-year-old Dunedin man is expected to appear in court today charged over a peeping tom incident in the city's student quarter last night.

Senior Sergeant Mark Donaldson said the man was seen by students attempting to take photos through the window of their flat shortly before 11pm.

A man was arrested in North Dunedin soon afterwards, Mr Donaldson said.

It follows an incident early last Thursday when a burglar with a history of peeping incidents was found in a Leith Street flat by one of its tenants.

The discovery of two such offenders in the student quarter is concerning for police, Mr Donaldson said.
