Ten people have been arrested after armed police raids on methamphetamine laboratories in South Auckland. Police say three clandestine "P" labs have been shut down.

Police say arms, cash and ingredients for making methamphetamine were discovered in the raids on Tuesday.

Among those arrested are high-profile gang members who face charges of manufacturing methaphetamine.

Detective Inspector John Tims says the arrests are a result of a three-month operation involving 100 officers.

Eight homes were raided in Manurewa and police say more arrests are likely.

Mr Tims says he hopes the arrests send a message that Counties Manukau police are cracking down on the manufacture of P in their area.
