Whangarei Police have arrested a man they say forced a woman to drive him around town at knifepoint.
Police said the 33-year-old woman was parked outside Laurie Hall on 18 August when the man got into her car.
He then threatened her and made her drive him around before getting out at the Town Basin.
Police said the 50-year-old man's arrest followed a thorough investigation.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping, and will appear in the Whangarei District Court tomorrow.
