The battle of the celebrity endorsement is continuing on the election trail, with former league star Stacey Jones aligning himself with Labour.
The former Kiwis captain, along with former Warriors player Wairangi Koopu, accompanied Miss Clark on a walkabout through the Manukau shopping mall in South Auckland on Thursday 6 November.
Stacey Jones said Helen Clark had always been a great supporter of league, and he wanted to show his support for her.
Following the walkabout Miss Clark said she was very optimistic that heartland voters would put Labour and the Green Party and others in a very competitive position.
Earlier in the week, league and rugby greats Michael Jones and Inga Tuigamala joined John Key to lend their support to the National Party.
They said there was growing support for National in the Pacific community, in part because some law changes that have been made under a Labour-led Government go against Pacific people's ideals.
