A One News Colmar Brunton poll shows the National Party maintaining a substantial lead over the Labour Party.
The poll, released on Sunday 5 October, puts National on 52%, down one point from the same poll at the same time in September, with Labour down from 35% to 33%.
The Green Party picked up support, gaining two points to 7%.
The Maori Party rose slightly to 2.5%, from 1.8%.
Despite controversy over party donations, New Zealand First rose fractionally to 2%, also from 1.8%.
ACT dropped 0.5 of a point to 1.5%.
National Party leader John Key continues to lead Helen Clark in the preferred Prime Minister stakes.
He is on 41%, up slightly from last month at 40%, while Miss Clark is steady on 31%.
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters registered 3% support as preferred Prime Minister.
The poll surveyed just over 1,000 people between 27 September and 2 October. It was released on 5 October.
The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1%.
