In a statement, the Ministry of Health said there were no cases in the community.

There are 39 active cases in New Zealand. The weekly average of new cases detected at the border is three.

The new border cases are all in Auckland MIQ facilities and had travelled from:

  • Cambodia via Singapore: arrived on 25 June, tested positive on day eight. They are a contact of another positive case.
  • Departure country still being investigated via Singapore: arrived on 30 June, tested positive on day three routine test.

Australian tourist in Wellington

The ministry said 2726 people had been identified as contacts of the Australian person who visited Wellington between 19 and 21 June.

Of those 2726 total contacts, 2670 people have returned an initial negative result; 33 people have been granted a clinical exemption and 22 require no further action.

Contact tracing teams were actively following up with the remaining person, the ministry said.

Yesterday, the country's largest shipment of Pfizer vaccines so far arrived at Auckland Airport.

This would keep the vaccine rollout "cranking along", Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told Morning Report.

"Because we've been ramping up our rollout and our deliveries have been generally been much smaller weekly, this now means we're well covered for the week ahead."

Australians from three states and the ACT are able to travel to New Zealand quarantine-free again, with the partial reopening of the travel bubble at 11.59pm yesterday.
