Soundsplash festivalgoers brave rain to converge on Raglan

A steady stream of music lovers is arriving for the Soundsplash Festival in Raglan, which has returned to the coastal Waikato town after a seven-year absence.

The festival was expected to attract 4000 to 5000 extra visitors to Raglan this weekend.

The Raglan Chamber of Commerce said the event was attracting different visitors than those who usually come for the surf and beaches.

Its administrator Karamea Puriri said people were arriving despite persistent rain this morning.

Organisers said it's a rain-or-shine event, and the weather is forecast to improve tomorrow.
