For 20 years Ann Shelton has been taking her cameras into places many of us would rather not venture into. Early works and some til now unseen work, through to her latest images are going on show at Auckland Art Gallery in Dark Matter, Ann's first retrospective.
In the mid 1990s she made a name for herself as a photographer to watch, with her series Redeye about her social scene in Auckland in the early 1990s. Since then she's become interested in real, forgotten and fabricated histories, filming in old buildings and public areas.
