The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care hearings have resumed in Auckland this week.

The Royal Commission is investigating abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults in care between 1950 and 1999, and this week witnesses are giving evidence about their experiences in care.

Karyn speaks with Hanne Janes who is the Lead Counsel for the Inquiry's redress investigation.

10.30 New Zealand's adult dental health needs are dire
One adult a week is being admitted to the intensive care unit at Christchurch Hospital because of poor dental health.

Specialist dentist Juliet Gray speaks with Karyn Hay about the challenges she and her colleagues face with people whose dental health has deteriorated so severely that they are being admitted with infections that have spread to their heart, lungs and spine - at times unintentionally overdosing to manage agonising dental pain.

10:45 The Rest is History: Aotearoa 
There's been a lot of discussion in the wake of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori about what our nation should be called officially.

Last week the Māori Party announced a policy to change New Zealand's name to Aotearoa and replace all Pākehā place names, cities and towns to their original Māori names by 2026.
