The Rest is History: Aotearoa

There's been a lot of discussion in the wake of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori about what our nation should be called officially.

Last week the Māori Party announced a policy to change New Zealand's name to Aotearoa and replace all Pākehā place names, cities and towns to their original Māori names by 2026.

Karyn speaks to the founder and publisher of Oratia books Peter Dowling who has been digging into the history of the place names used in Aotearoa New Zealand.
