Simon Morris finds himself missing the once sneered-at blockbusters, and consoles himself with three smaller, and mostly nicely done, movies.

 Endings beginnings finds Shailene Woodley torn between the rival attractions of Jamie Dornan (Fifty shades of Grey) and Sebastian Stan (Captain America).  Is this the Jules and Jim for the millennial generation?

 

 Israeli film God of the piano sees a fiercely competitive musician torn between the demands of her demanding father, and the problems of her aspiring pianist son. 

 

 And from Northern Ireland A bump along the way sees what happens when 40-something party girl Pamela unexpectedly becomes pregnant.  Starring Bronagh Gallagher (The Commitments, Pulp fiction) and Lola Petticrew (Dating Amber).
