Simon Morris looks at a documentary about the most opinionated – and some say the greatest – film critic ever, the late Pauline Kael.  He also checks out two films Kael would have turned her nose up at – the remake of a Disney animated classic, and a tear-jerking, feel-good movie.

Rory’s Way features Brian Cox as a crusty invalid from the Hebrides reuniting with his estranged son in San Francisco.  Also featuring Roseanne Arquette.

The Lion King is a phenomenally successful – at the box office - digital remake of 1994 Disney film, featuring the voice talent of Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiafor, Seth Rogen and James Earl Jones.

And What she said: The art of Pauline Kael is a documentary about the life and opinions of the former New Yorker film reviewer.  Simon talks to the film’s director Rob Garver.
