2:10 Ten Year Wait for Tram Almost Over - Jim Auker - It has been over 60 years since trams operated in Wanganui, but soon the clickety-clack sound of a tram will be making a comeback in the North Island town.
Jim Auker and the Wanganui Tramways Trust, are only months away from getting a tram back onto the streets... albeit for only 170 metres! It has been 10 years in the making and now the final step of installing overhead power lines is nearing which will allow the trams to make a return once more.

Some of us shy away from something like that, but for 71 year old Trevor Walton, he can't get enough of it. The retired Taranaki dairy farmer has proved that is it never too late to try something new. He first took up endurance racing at age 62, and is now one of the oldest riders in the country. But his age is not stopping him from clinching awards, and regularly beating much younger counterparts

3:30 Space Telescope Venture - Veronika Meduna - American and German astronomers have descended on Christchurch to take part in a series of flights on board a modified passenger aircraft which carries a large telescope in a hole in its side. Known as SOFIA - which stands for Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy - the telescope is making observations of space objects that can only be seen from the southern skies.
