Our Changing World - Space Telescope Venture

American and German astronomers have descended on Christchurch to take part in a series of flights on board a modified passenger aircraft which carries a large telescope in a hole in its side. Known as SOFIA - which stands for Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy - the telescope is making observations of space objects that can only be seen from the southern skies.
